From Valo to Involv – a seamless migration, with no loss of content or functionality.
How a global Swedish trading leader moved off Valo intranet ahead of its 2025 end of support – and gained flexibility, reach and better support in the process, together with our partner Dizparc.
This intranet project was successfully delivered in collaboration with our partner in Sweden, Dizparc.
The client is a Swedish trading company specialised in supply chain solutions for C-parts, founded in 1977 and grown through more than 50 acquisitions into a global group of 1,500–2,000 employees (roughly 70% office staff and 30% production staff).
From Valo to Involv Intranet: why organisations are making the switch
Many organisations that previously used Valo are now transitioning to Involv Intranet. This case study shows how one customer benefited from improved support, a seamless migration and greater flexibility. The transition was smooth and hassle-free, with no loss of content or functionality.
Why switch to Involv Intranet?
With Valo support ending in July 2025, the company needed a future-proof solution. Because both platforms are built on SharePoint and Microsoft 365 following similar architectural principles, the migration could be executed with high technical efficiency. Key elements such as content feeds and link web parts were seamlessly transferred. No loss of content. No loss of functionality.
On top of that, Involv offered additional capabilities:
- A user-friendly platform for both visitors and content creators
- Newsletters, notifications and content subscriptions
- Mobile accessibility for production employees via shared computers, mobile apps and digital signage
- Onboarding tools for new employees
Our migration approach
An intranet migration should not disrupt daily operations. That is why we chose an approach where the transition largely took place behind the scenes: the team worked on the backend while keeping the frontend familiar, so visitors and content creators continued without interruption. Once everything was technically ready, a single controlled transition moment switched everyone over to Involv Intranet.
This approach prevented disruptions, reduced the learning curve, maintained productivity and minimised change-management challenges.
How we approached this in practice
1. Valo intranet scan
We analysed the structure, the number of sites and multilingual configurations, the Valo web parts to replace, and the functionalities to migrate, optimise or phase out. This produced a clear migration roadmap, including timing, resources and optimisation opportunities.
2. Alignment with business needs
The primary objective was to retain full functionality before Valo support ended. Together with stakeholders, we determined which components would be replaced one-to-one, where optimisations were possible, and how the intranet could evolve.
3. Configuring Involv Intranet
Good news for Valo users: virtually nothing changed in their daily experience. Content remained in the same place. Links, names and URLs were preserved. The solution remained fully based on SharePoint and Microsoft 365. On top of that, we made targeted improvements:
- Preserving look & feel. Customised templates aligned with the existing design – colours, styles and navigation stayed recognisable.
- Smarter content management. All existing content remained accessible, with a centralised model for news and updates that gives departments greater autonomy.
- Enhanced employee directory. A visual upgrade without loss of functionality – Delve was replaced by the Involv User Profile page.
Results
- Seamless transition without downtime
- Full functionality via Involv equivalents for all Valo components
- A familiar user experience through preserved branding and navigation
- Improved accessibility for all employees, including production staff, via mobile apps, Teams and digital signage
- Stronger internal communication through newsletters, onboarding features and content subscriptions
The transition was not merely a replacement of Valo, but a structural improvement in collaboration, knowledge sharing and digital maturity.

Involv continues to support the company with the expansion of templates and layouts, the implementation of additional communication tools, the integration of collaboration functionalities, and the use of advanced analytics and mobile capabilities.
