Van Roey is a family-owned construction group that creates pleasant, livable, and sustainable environments. The company was founded in 1760 and, eight generations later, is still entirely owned by the same family. Over the years, Van Roey has grown into a group that supports and guides clients from start to finish. Collaboration with all stakeholders is at the heart of their approach.

In addition to focusing on clients, Van Roey places great importance on its employees. The organization therefore wanted to strengthen internal communication to create a closer and more connected team of more than 600 employees. To achieve this, they partnered with Involv intranet.

The challenge

Over the years, Van Roey Group used several different channels for internal communication. As a result, information became increasingly scattered across platforms, making it difficult to maintain a clear overview.

Another challenge was reaching blue-collar workers through traditional communication channels. Many employees do not have their own work computer, which makes intranet access and internal email less effective. In practice, communication often had to pass through team leaders.

Van Roey therefore wanted to create a single central platform where all employees – from workers to site managers and HR – could access the same information and feel more connected to the organization. The platform needed to make news, procedures and HR documents such as the employment regulations easily accessible to everyone.

The solution

When sharing news with a large group of employees, it is important that information remains relevant and targeted. Employees should not be overwhelmed with messages that are not meant for them.

With Involv intranet, news can easily be created and distributed to specific audiences. The communications manager can publish messages for particular users, teams or departments. News can also be categorized – for example as important, urgent or informational – allowing employees to quickly see what matters to them. This ensures that every user receives communication tailored to their role.

To reach workers, site managers and project leaders, Van Roey uses the Involv mobile app. This gives employees access to important information wherever they are. When urgent messages are published, they immediately receive a notification.

Employees are also encouraged to share feedback. While news is primarily communicated top-down, employees can interact by liking or commenting on posts, sharing ideas through Involv Ideation or participating in surveys via Microsoft Forms. This enables genuine two-way communication within the organization.
