As an employer of over 1,500 staff spread across dozens of locations, strong internal communication is essential. They needed a brand-new intranet to support their organizational culture, which embraces unity, innovation and collaboration.

The problem

Province of Antwerp wanted a modern intranet: visually appealing, user-friendly and easy to manage. A central hub where employees could find news, documents, information and social interaction – a true one-stop shop.

At the same time, the Province aimed to move away from email as the primary communication channel and shift toward a more efficient medium that delivers information faster, more targeted and in a more visual way.

As part of a broader digital transformation – including the rollout of Office 365 – it became clear that the existing intranet also needed replacement. The previous solution, built on a Liferay platform, was technically outdated, difficult to manage and failed to deliver an optimal user experience.

The challenge? To build an intranet that:
